Abstract

The Amazon rainforest is home to a vast diversity of plant species, many of which have been used for medicinal purposes by indigenous peoples for centuries. This study investigated the antioxidant activity of plant species collected from the Tamshiyacu-Tahuayo Communal Regional Conservation Area (ACR CTT) in Peru. The antioxidant activity of the plant extracts was determined using the DPPH assay. The results showed that the plant extracts had significant antioxidant activity, with some extracts exhibiting more activity than commercial antioxidants. The findings of this study suggest that the plant species from the ACR CTT have potential as sources of natural antioxidants.
