Abstract

Peach tree (Prunus persica L. Batsch) stands as the third most significant fruit crop in temperate climates globally, trailing behind apple and pear trees (Byrne et al., 2012). As per the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE), Brazil held sway over the production of 183.1 thousand tons of peaches in 2019, harvested across approximately 16 thousand hectares. Rio Grande do Sul emerged as the foremost producing state, contributing 110.2 thousand tons from 11.8 thousand hectares.
