STRUCTURAL DYNAMICS: SEISMIC PERFORMANCE EVALUATION OF U2C BUILDING WITH KOBE EARTHQUAKE SPECTRUM
Ahmad Zainal Abidin
Indonesia is prone to frequent seismic activities, necessitating careful planning and design of building structures to withstand earthquakes. This study aims to evaluate the performance of high-rise buildings in Indonesia using various seismic analysis methods. Time history analysis is employed to assess the behavior of building structures under specific earthquake recordings, focusing on displacement, drift, and base shear. The results of the analysis are used to determine the performance levels of the structures, including service limits, ultimate limits, and overall safety. Several case studies are presented to demonstrate the effectiveness of earthquake-resistant designs. For example, the evaluation of a special...
SYNCHRONIZED SENSORS: ENHANCING DISTRIBUTION TRANSFORMER MONITORING WITH IOT FOR VOLTAGE, CURRENT, AND GAS DETECTION
Faisal Rahman Hakim
The distribution network plays a vital role in electricity distribution but is susceptible to various disturbances that can jeopardize its performance and damage distribution transformers. Safety devices and voltage breakers are commonly used to address disturbances, but they may fail to provide adequate protection during temporary network disruptions. Such disturbances can lead to fluctuations in voltage, current, temperature, and gas levels in the distribution transformer. To address these challenges, the implementation of a reliable monitoring system becomes crucial. Monitoring, as an observation activity with a specific purpose, has evolved with the advancement of technology. The Internet of Things (IoT) has...
CONFIDENCE BOOSTERS: A CLOSE LOOK AT HOW LOW SELF-CONFIDENCE INFLUENCES STUDENT LEARNING AND STRATEGIES FOR OVERCOMING EDUCATIONAL OBSTACLES
Farida Akbari
Competence, knowledge, and performance are interconnected concepts that play a pivotal role in an individual's career success. Students who lack these attributes may encounter numerous challenges in achieving their academic goals and intended outcomes. Among these, self-confidence is a critical factor influencing students' participation and progress in the learning process. The current educational system is grappling with a crisis caused by low self-confidence, resulting in decreased engagement and unsatisfactory academic performance. This research aims to explore the impact of self-confidence on students' learning experiences. The study delves into how students' learning is influenced by their level of self-confidence, distinguishing between...
