Sport coaches play a vital role in the development of athletes, both on and off the field. However, the coaching profession is complex and evolving, and there is a lack of consistency in coaching requirements across sports. This can create confusion for coaches and athletes, and may lead to suboptimal coaching performance. Governing bodies should do everything possible to ensure that sport coaches receive high-quality education and training, so that they can be effective in their roles
