Abstract
<p>Sport tourism is a growing industry that can benefit local communities, cities, and states. This paper examines the economic and social impacts of team handball tourism, focusing on the 2009 World Men's Handball Championship (WMHC09) in Split, Croatia. The findings suggest that WMHC09 had a positive impact on the local economy, with increased tourism revenue and job creation. The event also had a positive social impact, with improved community relations and increased pride in the city</p>
