Abstract

Community-based ecotourism holds promise for fostering sustainable development in Gorgora, Ethiopia. This paper explores the potential of such initiatives in leveraging local resources while preserving the environment and cultural heritage. Drawing on case studies and empirical research, it examines the opportunities and challenges of community involvement in ecotourism, highlighting the implications for economic growth, environmental conservation, and social cohesion. By shedding light on the transformative power of community-based ecotourism, this paper seeks to inform policymakers, practitioners, and local communities on strategies for sustainable development in Gorgora and similar regions.
