Abstract

This international literature review delves into the critical connection between emerging growth strategies and regional-local spatial development models. The determination of land use, a fundamental aspect of this interplay, is influenced by a complex web of economic development factors. These factors, despite their varying scales, collectively exert significant pressure on both natural and man-made environments, often leading to contentious disputes among stakeholders, with competition between the primary sector and tourism emerging as a primary focal point.

In the realm of landscape evolution, this review places paramount importance on investigating the causative agents and contributing factors that trigger and shape the evolutionary processes. Drawing from a broad spectrum of scholarly sources, this study underscores that landscapes undergo transformation under the influence of multiple variables, spanning biophysical, socioeconomic, demographic, managerial, geographical, and other dimensions. The comprehensive sources referenced in this review provide a well-rounded understanding of the multifaceted dynamics that drive landscape change.
